Lucknow: The Department of Intellectual Disability at Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) organized an insightful lecture on “Use of SPSS” as part of its ongoing academic initiative, “Igniting Inquiry: A Lecture Series for Young Researchers.” The session was held at Academic Block-II, A-2 Block, Room No. 322, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from M.Ed. and Ph.D. scholars.
This lecture marked the second session of the series, following the successful completion of its inaugural edition. The session was delivered by guest faculty Dr. Narendra Kumar from the Department of Economics, who provided a comprehensive understanding of SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences).
During the lecture, Dr. Kumar explained key aspects of SPSS, including data entry and management, descriptive statistics such as mean, median, and mode, and inferential techniques like t-tests and ANOVA. He also highlighted methods of data interpretation and emphasized the role of SPSS in enhancing accuracy and reliability in research.
The speaker underlined that SPSS simplifies complex statistical calculations, saves time, minimizes errors, and enables effective presentation of data through graphs, charts, and tables—making research more scientific and credible.

The session was coordinated and concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Neha Singh Yadav. Faculty members, including Dr. Kaushal Sharma, Dr. J. Kalyani, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, and others, were present along with research scholars and students.
The lecture proved highly beneficial, equipping participants with practical skills and deeper insights to enhance the quality and effectiveness of their research work.
